Estimating store traffic in real-time

In order to support the commerce and distribution sectors, Sopra Steria has joined forces with Salesforce to design, develop and offer a free application that helps to reduce queues and regulate traffic in closed public areas.

Through a dedicated interface, users can select a specific timeslot in which to go to the store, therefore avoiding queues while reducing the risk of infection. This app has already been adopted by 400 mass retail stores in Italy and is gradually being introduced in France, Spain and Belgium.

Accessibility for as many people as possible

To enable everyone to benefit from this solution and thus contribute to reducing the digital divide, a telephone reservation system has also been set up so that people without Internet access can use the service.

This initiative was put forth during the #EuvsVirus hackathon, initiated by the European Commission in order to extend its use to all sectors of activity, particularly those in the public, health and transport sectors.
