Traditional banks face unprecedented pressure to digitize, with AI emerging as a critical component to meet these expectations and improve performance, according to Sopra Steria’s Digital Banking Experience Report 2023. Banks’ digital transformation projects are bearing fruit, and their technological ambitions are turbocharged as AI tools demonstrate their positive impact.
The report is based on research by Forrester, surveying 866 senior bank decision-makers globally, and Ipsos, questioning 11,300 bank customers in nine European countries about their financial habits and attitudes. However, banks must move quickly to avoid losing trust and market share. While 80% of customers trust their bank, over half feel their bank isn't interested in earning them money, and more than a quarter say their bank offers unsuitable products.
